The Glass Key opened in December of 1999 as a source for stained glass materials, supplies, and tools with a full schedule of classes to teach you how to use them. Class Schedule

Stained Glass – Copper Foil

This is a beginner’s stained glass class.  The technique taught will be in the copper foil method.  Students will learn all the steps needed to complete their first panel as well learning how to care for their tools.  This is a 6 week course that will meet once a week.  Depending on the pattern selected there may be some homework. Class meets from 6:30pm – 9pm.  $210 + tools and glass

 Stained Glass – Lead Method

This class is for students with prior glass experience.  Students will receive the basic instructions in the lead came method.  You will learn how to handle and cut lead came, solder came joints and finally glaze your lead panel. This is a 3 week class.

Class fee – $195.00 plus tools and supplies

Class time – 6:30pm – 9pm

Class dates – Wednesday June 7 thru June 21


Basic Fusing – $225.00

No previous glass experience necessary however basic cutting skills are helpful.  Students will learn the basic techniques for fusing as well as the different types of glass available.  Students will have the opportunity to create a few projects.  Basic tools and materials are included.                               Thursday         May 25 – June 1                        11am – 2pm

Soldering Workshop – $55.00

Understand how to get a smooth solder seam.  You will need to bring all your soldering tool (iron, stand and flux).

Cutting Workshop – $55.00

We will review the basic principles of glass cutting and how best to persuade the glass to break where you want it.  This is a hands on class so bring your cutting and breaking tools.

Mosaic Workshop – $55.00

Learn the basic direct mosaic technique.  Students will go home with a finished 8” trivet tray with handles and the confidence to tackle bigger projects.  All supplies are included in fee.

Framing Workshop – $55.00

In this workshop we will go over different ways to finish off your project and why framing is important.  You will have an opportunity to frame your project and learn how to use the different materials for framing.

Bottle Cutting Workshop – $55.00

Test out some of the bottle cutting tools that are available as well as picking up ideas on what to do with the bottles once you’ve cut them.  We will show you how to score and separate the bottle successfully as well as finishing/smoothing the edges. Bring your bottles and some fun.
