Class Schedule

 

Class Schedule Jan thru March 2018

Stained Glass – Copper Foil – $210.00

This is a beginner’s stained glass class.  The technique taught will be in the copper foil method.  Students will learn all the steps needed to complete their first panel as well learning how to care for their tools.  This is a 6 week course that will meet once a week.  Depending on the pattern you select you may have homework.   Tools and Supplies are not included. Project is to be no larger than 11×17.

Copper Foil Workshop- $125.00

Make it and take it workshop, pattern is provided as well as all tools and materials.  We will go over the basic steps and you will complete a small panel.

  • Saturday                      Jan 27, 2018                          noon-3pm

Prairie Style Lamp Shade – $175.00

In this class you will learn how to construct a 4 sided lamp.  We will discuss how to select glass, construct the sides and finish your lamp off.  You may bring your own pattern or choice one of ours.  You must be knowledgeable in the copper foil method to take this class. Tools and Supplies are not included.

Basic Fusing – $245.00

No previous glass experience necessary however basic cutting skills are helpful.  In this class we will go over everything from kilns, firing schedules, fusing vs slumping vs draping and why compatibility is important. Everyone will do test firings to better understand how their projects will turn out. Tools and Supplies are included.

Soldering Workshop – $60.00

Discover how to get a smooth solder seam and know when enough is enough.  You will need to bring all your soldering tools (iron, stand, flux, solder).  Please have glass strips foiled and ready for soldering.

Cutting Workshop – $55.00

We will review the basic principles of glass cutting and how best to persuade the glass to break where you want it.  This is a hands on class so bring your cutting and breaking tools and we will supply the glass.

Framing Workshop – $55.00

This workshop goes over different ways to finish off your project and why framing is important.  You will have an opportunity to frame one of your projects while learning how to use different materials for framing.

Groutless Mosaic Workshop – $55.00

Make an 8×8 mosaic mirror without all the mess. This class is suitable for all ages.  Tools and Supplies are included.

  • Saturday                      Mar 10, 2018                        Noon – 2:30pm

Mosaic Tray – $145.00

Make a 10×15 tray using the direct method. We will discuss different methods used to construct a mosaic project as well as materials needed for fabrication.

  • Saturday                      Feb 3 – Feb 17, 2018        Noon – 3pm

Lampworking – $100.00

No previous glass experience necessary.  Learn how to melt glass rods to make your own beads.  Learn how to pull your own stringers and well as various other decorated techniques.   This is a basic bead making class we will be working with MAPP gas.
